PHD STUDENTS
Shuolin Xiao
Shuolin joined the group in Fall 2015. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Optical & Electronical Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology. His current research focuses on modeling the impact of the offshore oil spill accident on the ocean light field.
Meng Li
Meng joined the group in Fall 2016. He received his master’s degree from School of Power & Engineering at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His current research focuses on direct numerical simulation and large-eddy simulation of turbulent boundary layer flows.
Chen Peng
Chen joined the group in Fall 2016. He received his bachelor’s degree from School of Physics at University of Science and Technology of China. His current research focuses on large-eddy simulation of oil plume dispersion in the ocean environment.
Masoumeh Gharaati
Masoumeh got her bachelor and masters degrees in mechanical engineering from Yasouj University, and she spent six months as a visiting researcher at the University of Michigan. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D.. Her current research focuses on Particle Image Velocimetry measurements and Large-Eddy Simulations of Vertical Axis Wind Turbine wake flow.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Robert Perez
Robert is a senior in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston. He is currently an undergraduate research assistant in the wind tunnel laboratory. His research focuses on turbulent flow velocity measurement and data analysis.
